Chantal's Survivor: Borneo is the 1st installment of Chantal's Survivor. The season features 16 contestants fighting for the title of Sole Survivor.
Production
Chantal's Survivor was originally put up as Chantal's Survivor: Top Model Vs. Survivor, however the show was cancelled due to a lackluster amount of applications. The show was then brought back instead casting as Chantal's Top Model: Survivor, again the show was cancelled due to a lackluster amount of applicants. Finally for a third time, Chantal's Survivor was renewed, this time as Chantal's Survivor: Borneo, this time 20 contestants applied. The show was intended to feature 18 contestants, however the format was changed from 18 to 16 match the amount of contestants featured in the original Survivor: Borneo. 4 applicants were cut from the final selection process and 16 made the official cast of the first season.
Twists/Changes
- Cast Reduction - The cast was originally intended to be comprised of 18 contestants, however this was reduced to 16 to follow the format of the original Survivor: Borneo.
- Hidden Immunity Idols - One Hidden Immunity Idol is hidden at each tribes camp (one at each of the original tribes and one at the merged tribe). Clues are provided after each immunity challenge if the contestant wishes to hunt for the idol. Idols are replanted if used, or a contestant is voted out in possession of one.
